Surdyke Motorsports Offers Motorcycle Training Course

Jul. 25 2018 News By Stuart McMillian

If you ever wanted to learn how to ride a motorcycle or it’s been awhile since you’ve been on a bike and want to get back in the saddle, Surdyke Motorsports offers a motorcycle training course called RIDE.  The class is only two days compared to 3 or 4 days you’ll find elsewhere.  The course requires classroom time but most of the training is hands on.  You’ll be on a Yamaha motorcycle provided by Surdyke Motorsports on a certified closed course with Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) trained coaches.

Upon passing the course, you’ll receive a completion card that justifies as the riding portion of the motorcycle safety test in Missouri.  In other words, you won’t have to take the riding portion of the state test if you pass our course.  You’ll still need to take the written part of the test but our instructors will cover everything in the classroom to prepare you.  Passing the class could even help lower costs on insurance premiums (ask your insurance provider).

Since we provide the motorcycle, you have to bring the required riding gear in order to participate in the class.  You’ll need over-the-ankle boots, full-finger gloves, ¾ or full-face DOT approved helmet.  If you are not using a face shield on your helmet, you must have some sort of glasses on.  A long sleeve shirt and jeans are required.  For safety reasons, the jeans cannot have holes or rips on them.
